About the Artist

I love life and find inspiration all around me.  I love my family and the newest member of our family, our little Boston Terrier Ruby!  She keeps fueling my playful spirit.  I have a passion for learning and communicating.  The more I learn, the more I feel connected to the world around me.  As I explore new subjects, inspiration is around every corner.

Translating that into art is a real joy for me.  My goal is to invite the viewer into that world of curiosity and look at even simple things perhaps through a new eye.

The more I learn about artists, both contemporary and those from the past, I discover new ways of looking at things.  The list of artists who inspire me continues to grow.  Some include N.C. Wyeth, Monet, Cezanne, Hopper, Whistler and O'Keefe.

I am an impressionist artist as I believe it's more interesting to engage the viewer's own imagination and sense of creativity.  I seek to portray my subjects with just enough information to tell the story without all the details.

My experimenting has lead me to a love of a variety of mediums including acrylics, oils, soft pastels and pen & ink.  I feel a strong affinity for acrylics for a variety of reasons.  I believe it has been an under-appreciated medium that's making tremendous advancements in the professional art world.  I love being a part of that movement.  I also adore pastels for their vibrancy.

My artwork is appreciated and collected by people from around the world. In 2007, I served as a Guide of the very popular international, online forum wetcanvas.com owned by F&W Publications, publishers of The Artist’s Magazine, Watercolor Magic, and Pastel Journal.

In 2007 my painting “Daffodils” was chosen to be the cover illustration of a fundraising mailing for the Marie Curie Cancer Organization in the United Kingdom and was auctioned during the "Private View" of the "2008 Summer Exhibition" at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, England.

Early in 2009 I accomplished a long time goal:  I wrote and illustrated my first children's book entitled How I Became Famous, As Told by Zoe the Boston Terrier.  In the Fall of 2009, my painting "Morning at Phoenix Cleaners" was accepted into the Gilcrease Museum's "American Art in Miniature" Exhibit.

My studio is in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  For questions, please feel free to send me an email.
